Clementine Grimes has just bought the cabin she grew up in. A quiet property nestled on the edge of a sleepy Illinois town where the trees grow too still, and the locals remember more than they let on.

With the help of Ava, an old family friend studying to become a therapist, Clementine returns not just to rebuild, but to recover. There’s something locked in that cabin, in this town, and maybe even in herself.

Meanwhile, Nate Whitlock has been living back in town for over a year after being quietly released from a nearby mental hospital. People say he’s fine. They wave at him. They avoid his eyes.

Nate keeps to himself, walks the same roads every day, and tries not to feel like he’s unraveling again.
